Ruggero Deodato’s original movie was part of the Video Nasty madness and managed to get itself banned back in the 1980’s. It is now available on DVD , however, still remains one of the more shocking of the Video Nasty’s. To be far, what else would you expect form the director of Cannibal Holocaust? It told the two of two thugs who go to a house party where the group of friends are generally well off. They make a mockery out of Ricky and Alex, who become angry and decide to teach these spoilt kids some manners in horrific ways, and for it’s time it stood proudly alongside classics such as The Last House on the Left and I Spit on Your Grave. Thankfully, this is one video nasty which is not being remade, and instead the plan is to inject a new story and actually try to do something bit different.
Deodato returns to direct, and the films will be partly based on his story with Andrew Jones writing the screenplay. Giovanni Lombardo Radice will return as Ricky, and the new ilm will follow him as he gets released from jail thirty years after the events of the first movie. Brutally beaten and tortured at the hands of a vicious warden, Ricky arrives back in New York in the hope of fitting in somewhere. With the memory of his pal Alex still fresh in his mind, Ricky gets in with yet another nasty bunch, lead by a sinister guy known as The Poet. He, and his girlfriend Muriel will no doubt lead Ricky on a dangerous path, so expect much more violence and all forms of horrible things when this films gets released. It is currently in production.
