An Evening With My Comatose Mother: Short film is the stuff of nightmares!

You know, Short Films really do offer up some surprises, and quite often too! An Evening With My Comatose Mother, directed by Jonathan Martin is the perfect example. Looking at this stunning trailer, the shot film (33 minutes) looks of an incredibly high quality with superb effects and a standout attention to detail with the emphasis on scaring the shit out of you. Jonathan Martin also wrote the story and the screenplay, and his cast include Wendy Macy, Michele Turner Wilson and Missy Hill. Now, I would absolutely LOVE to get my hands on a copy of gthis to review, so Jonathan Martin, if you are reading this, please please please send a copy! We at Horror Cult Films always get excited by new director’s who show potential, and blimey does this guy show potential. We could very well be looking at the next Wes Craven, John Carpenter or even Dario Argento here. This trailer has really got me all in a bit of a state, all excited like! Anyway, here is the synopsis:

Dorothy Pritchard thought she had it easy; house sit for the wealthy Poe’s on All Hallows Eve while collecting a cool paycheck. That was, until, she was introduced to the Poe’s rotting, comatose mother living upstairs. As the dark of the night comes, and as the approaching storm blacks out the neighborhood, Dorothy soon finds herself on a nightmare ride through hell that she can only beg to be woken up from.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
