Dr Hannibal Lecter on your TV? Now there’s a scary thought!

Dr Hannibal Lecter could well be making his way to TV screens very soon! French film studio Gaumont is heading over seas to L.A where it has set up a new production company aimed at making TV series’. Calling themselves Gaumont International Television (GIT, really?) their first project is to bring an hour long TV series based on Hannibal ‘The Cannibal’ Lecter to life.

The show will simply be called Hannibal, and will be written by Bryan Fuller. The drama series will follow Hannibal Lecter and his young patient, a FBI criminal profiler who sympathizes with serial killers.

Writer Fuller has also been responsible for Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me, will also executive produce and he will be joined by producer Martha De Laurentiis. No casting has yet been announced, although it would be nice to see Hopkins back in the role of Lecter.

More as it happens.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
