Expendables 2: Arnie & Willis to have “substantial roles”, Chuck Norris also on board?

Empire Online have just announced that both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have signed on for The Expendables 2, and this time round it is said they will have “more substantial” roles than their blink and you’ll miss them cameos from the first film. Hurrah!! The short scene involving the Planet Hollywood founders, Arnie, Willis and Stallone was one of the highlights of the fantastic first film, and more of them all sharing the screen can only be a good thing.

Stallone has also been involved with helping to write the sequel, with the bulk of the writing being done by David Agosto and Ken Kaufman, and Simon West (Con Air) will be directing. Shooting is scheduled to begin on October, and the word is that the plot will follow Mickey Rourke’s character ‘Tool’ either being murdered or kidnapped, which causes our team of Expendables to take revenge. Jason Statham will be returning, as well as Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews. Jet Li was supposed to be returning, although there have been rumours of him dropping out, lets hope they are just rumours.

In even more fantastic news, Jean Claude Van Damme is STILL rumoured to be taking part, and it was originally though he would be playing a villain, but also Robocop himself Peter Weller is also rumoured to be taking part, along with Scott Adkins. But probably the most interesting part is the hairiest, beardiest (is that a word) one time toughest man on the planet Chuck Norris is also rumoured to be taking a role in the film!

All will be revealed very soon

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
