Kill List and Down Terrace director Ben Wheatley has really made a name for himself with his previous two films, with Kill List (review) topping many fans lists as one of the best films of 2011. Kill List is a work of genius, a terrific film and thanks to that, Wheatley’s next film, Sightseers, is hot property too!
The very image has been revealed for the dark comedy which is based on two people travelling around Britain to see the sights. Directed by Wheatley, the film has been written by Steve Oram and Alice Lowe and also stars those writers as the main two characters. If you are not sold on what I have just said then check out the quite stunning still below, but first read the full synopsis. Once you have read the synopsis, remember this is the guy who directed Kill List and Down Terrace, and I have no doubts he will do something quite special here as well!
Chris (Steve Oram) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe) his world, and he wants to do it his way – on a journey through the British Isles in his beloved Abbey Oxford Caravan. Tina’s led a sheltered life, and there are things that Chris needs her to see – the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that separates these wonders in his life. But it doesn’t take long for the dream to fade. Litterbugs, noisy teenagers and pre-booked caravan sites, not to mention Tina’s meddling mother, soon conspire to shatter Chris’ dreams and send him, and anyone who rubs him up the wrong way, over a very jagged edge…
