US trailer for ‘Emergo (Apartment 143)’ will freak you out while attempting to explain a few things

The more I see of the mysterious new film Emergo, the more desperate I am becoming to watch it! It was reported last year that the director of Buried, Rodrigo Cortes, had written a film that was set to change the way we watch movies all together. The first images came through last week, followed by a very chilling trailer.

Today a new US  trailer has emerged, and there is a lot more explaining going on here to give you a proper idea as to what the hell is going on.

Directed by Carles Torrens and written by Rodrigo Cortes, Emergo (or Apartment 143 as it is known in the US) stars Kai Lennox, Michael O’Keefe and Rick Gonzalez.

Magnolia has acquired US rights and plan to release the film on the States as VOD on 27th April, followed by a theatrical run from 1st June. No UK release details have been announced.

“Shot entirely in English, ‘Emergo’ is the descendant of ‘The Blair Witch Project’ and ‘Rec,’ but breaks away from tradition by revolutionizing filmmaking altogether. All types of cameras are used – video, HD, 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm – as we follow scientists’ footsteps through a haunted house, casting a frightening spell over the audience. Brace yourself for this terrifying experience!”

Synopsis:

A team of parapsychologists try to figure out a strange phenomena occurring in an apartment building.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
