I must say that I am getting more and more excited about Red Lights, and this brand new UK trailer, revealed exclusively by Empire a few days ago, has got me well and truly sold!
Rodrigo Cortes, director of the excellent film Buried, is back to push boundaries again, and this time he aims for a more spooky affair. Along with the new UK trailer comes an official UK release date, so mark this date down people, 22nd June is the date Red Lights arrives in UK cinemas.
The impressive cast includes Robert De Niro, Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, Elizabeth Olsen, Joely Richardson, Toby Jones, Craig Roberts and Karen David. Rodrigo Cortes both wrote and directed the film.
Synopsis:
“Two investigators of paranormal hoaxes, the veteran Dr. Margaret Matheson and her young assistant, Tom Buckley, study the most varied metaphysical phenomena with the aim of proving their fraudulent origins. Simon Silver, a legendary blind psychic, reappears after an enigmatic absence of 30 years to become the greatest international challenge to both orthodox science and professional sceptics. Tom starts to develop an intense obsession with Silver, whose magnetism becomes stronger with each new manifestation of inexplicable events. As Tom gets closer to Silver, tension mounts, and his worldview is threatened to its core.”
