Filming on Iron Man 3 has begun, and even though plenty of names have already been announced to be starring in director Shane Black’s sequel, there is still room for more names to be added right?

Robert Downey Jnr we all know is returning as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and also returning will be Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Don Cheadle as James Rhodes. We also know that Sir Ben Kingsley will be playing a major villain, and Guy Pearce will be playing Aldrich Killian, the geneticist who created Nanotechnology. It has been said that Iron Man 3 will draw its story from Warren Ellis’ Iron Man: Extremis six-issue run, and it will involve Tony Stark dabbling with ‘Nanotechnology’.  A new threat is brought to Iron Man as terrorists get hold of the Nanotechnology, and at this moment in time, we can only presume the terrorists will be run by Sir Ben Kingsley. Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and previous Iron Man director John Favreau  (playing Happy Hogan again) will also be appearing in the new film.

News yesterday confirmed that Ashley Hamilton, son of George Hamilton, will be appearing in Iron Man 3 as the villain Firepower. Hamilton has appeared in the TV series Sunset Beach, Beethoven’s 2nd and the horror film Voodoo Lagoon, and it is said his character Firepower, also known as Jack Taggert, takes part in Project: Firepower. The project aims to create a suit to match Iron Man’s, and could well prove very bothersome for Tony Stark. It is not yet known exactly what capacity this villain will play in the new movie.

News reported by Latino Review today says that William Sadler has been spotted having a costume fitted at the same time as Guy Pearce for Iron Man 3. It is not yet known who William Sadler will be playing, or whether he will be playing a villain or a good guy, but the news he is joining the cast is very encouraging. Sadler has appeared in over 100 movies and TV shows, including The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist and the Green Mile.
