Sarah Becker urgently visits her dentist, Dr Weyland, after experiencing a disturbing nightmare of her teeth falling out. Unfortunately for her, Dr. Weyland (Mike Burnell) may uncover more than just her troubled past, leaving Sarah’s reality far worse than just a bad dream.
32 is a nifty 15 minute short film from Night Walker Cinema creators Joseph Dean Martinez and James Neff and their ability to unnerve their audience seems to have continued on from their previous short, Seizure.
The clinical environment in which 32 is shot is stunningly sterile and will strike fear into hearts of many purely for being a dentist’s room. Night Walker Cinema have proven to get to the heart of fear before their characters even utter a single line and it works tremendously well in this short film.
What I really enjoyed about 32 was the detail given to the plot and how it developed into the shocking climax. A lot of effort has gone into making this story an indepth, terrifying piece of film and when it peaks, it hits you with a jab, cross and uppercut combo revelation and does not disappoint.
The only noticeable issues were a couple of the lines spoken by the main characters that felt a little forced and Dr Weyland’s voice is out-of-sync, in which sounds like post-production dubbing. These are minor flaws though in which is a creepy, atmospheric horror that’ll sit with you for weeks to come.
