Marc Webb is now shooting his sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and while a couple of strange and slightly un-interesting images were revealed a few weeks back, today a flurry of images have landed to give us a good idea what to expect from the new film.
Yesterday saw the revealing of Spider-Man’s new suit, and you can see it below in all its glory set to a blinding white background. The new suit looks pretty damn cool, with many saying it is the closest thing yet to the comics. You can also see the suit in action as The Daily Mail have managed to bag themselves some set photos of Andrew Garfield in action, and yes, the suit looks absolutely fantastic!
Also revealed today is the first look at Shailene Woodley as Spidey’s new love interest, Mary Jane. Woodley will be stepping into the sexy shoes of the role played by Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi’s film, and I must admit that Woodley certainly looks the part!
And the Spider-Man news keeps on coming this week as star Dane DeHaan spoke to Time magazine about preparing for his role as Harry Osborn. DeHaan said:
“We’re already here, and I’ve been preparing… Right now it’s just about getting all my work done and bulking up a little bit. I’ll start shooting fairly soon in New York.
“I work out incredibly intensely six days a week and I eat every two hours. Mostly proteins and veggies. I consume at least 3,000 calories a day.
“I’ve already gained seven pounds in six weeks! I weigh more right now than I’ve ever weighed in my whole life. I’ve always constantly had trouble putting on weight, so it’s actually a whole lot for me.”
The sequel to last year’s critical and box office hit The Amazing Spider-Man, the film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.
In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers.
The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.
