SPANISH FLY
For the first time since its cinema release, SPANISH FLY (15) will be available to own on DVD from 22 April, RRP £9.99, courtesy of Network Distributing. The vintage sex comedy has been remastered from original materials with this version including its as-exhibited cinema aspect ratio. Directed by Bob Kellett (Are You Being Served?), SPANISH FLY stars Terry-Thomas as Sir Percy de Courcy (The Persuaders) and Leslie Philips as Mike Scott (Chancer) who play rivals in this fruity comedy caper set on the Mediterranean island of Minorca in the mid-1970s.

Despite the scenery and sunshine, expat Sir Percy de Courcy feels dejected. In a cunning wheeze to make some much needed money he buys 100,000 gallons of local wine, hoping to sell it at vast profit. Unfortunately even Sir Percy has to admit the wine tastes foul, and when he asks his chauffeur to ‘improve’ the take, a certain
local ingredient finds its way into the bottles, turning it into a potent aphrodisiac.

Add to the mix Sir Percy’s old school friend Mike – arriving on the island to supervise a series of glamorous lingerie photoshoots – and it seems Sir Percy is about to experience a sudden reversal of fortunes!

ON THE FIDDLE
Kenneth Haigh, Nanette Newman and Harry Andrews give compelling performances in the hard-hitting and sexually explicit 1973 film MAN AT THE TOP (15), available to own on 22 April 2013, RRP £9.99.

On the cusp of international fame, Sean Connery took a lead role in this star-studded film adaptation of R.F. Delderfield’s story of a couple of lovable service dodgers who become accidental heroes. ON THE FIDDLE will be available to own for the first time on 22 April 2013, RRP £9.99. On the Fiddle is featured here in a brand-new transfer from original film elements in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio.

Tricked into joining the RAF by a wily judge, wide boy Horace Pope sets his sights on the main chance, teams with slow-witted, goodhearted gypsy Pedlar Pascoe, and works up a lucrative racket in conning both his colleagues and the RAF. By means of various devious schemes Pope and Pascoe manage to avoid the front lines until they are sent to France – where they find themselves making unexpected and uncomfortably close contact with the enemy…

MAN AT THE TOP

Kenneth Haigh, Nanette Newman and Harry Andrews give compelling performances in the hard-hitting and sexually explicit 1973 film MAN AT THE TOP (15), available to own on 22 April 2013, RRP £9.99.

The film traces the progress of Joe Lampton, the aggressively ambitious protagonist of John Braine’s Room at the Top. Offering a grittier treatment than 1959’s film adaptation and subsequent television series which sequelised Braine’s classic novel, Man at the Top is featured here in a brand-new transfer from original film elements in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio.

Northerner Joe Lampton becomes involved with Lord Ackerman, the powerful chairman of a pharmaceutical concern, his beautiful wife Alex, and daughter Robin. But trouble starts when Joe is made Managing Director of one of Ackerman’s companies and makes a shocking discovery: his predecessor committed suicide because of his involvement in a drug that had left a hundred women sterile. Joe attacks Ackerman with his knowledge of the facts, yet the chairman is strangely unperturbed.
