Unofficial Resident Evil 2 HD remake in the works

Re2RB

Resident Evil, the GameCube remake of the classic survival horror, is not only arguably the best in Capcom’s long running horror series, but quite possibly the best title in the genre as well. Rebuilt from the ground up, with tons more content, it was a massive hit with fans, and since then there has always been demand from fans for the sequel, Resident Evil 2, to be given the same treatment. Well, fans of the exceptional sequel may be in for a terrifying treat thanks to indie developer InvaderGames.

Italian dev, InvaderGames are hard at work on a complete rebuild of  the classic horror title, and although it is 100% unofficial, they are hoping to at least get Capcom’s blessing. One can only hope that this is the least that the software giant do, as this is something I have been waiting for since REmake, back in 2002. The game is being made purely as a fan service and with intention of making any profit. While it’s still in development, with the intention of launching this December, an Alpha build version will be made available at some point this month, and judging by the videos, this could be something to get excited about. The only hitch I can see is Capcom having something to say about it, but hopefully, they’ll be cool.
