Like Matt Wavish I was rather excited by the Jurassic World trailer, but two things bothered me. One was that I didn’t hear that glorious theme of John Williams. I know he isn’t scoring the film, but it just didn’t feel right not to hear some of that music, and the generic Hans Zimmer-like music we did hear wasn’t anything to speak about. Secondly, the first second showed a largely unconvincing CGI shot of the park gate, and it’s got fans in an uproar. A couple of fans asked director Colin Trevorrow about this, and he gave some reasssurign responses.
“The gate will be practical. Real wood, concrete and steel”.
“The gate is practical, the environment isn’t. That shot was made specifically for the trailer. The film will be different”.
This is good news, though why they decided to open a trailer with a shot that is both poor and isn’t going to be in the actual film is beyond me.
