Due to have its world premiere at next months Fantasia International Film Festival, Sterling Cinema have now released the first trailer for their Australian horror thriller, Observance.

With an intense build up, and ending on a barrage of nightmarish imagery, Observance looks incredible. Fantasia describe the film as “A poignant and terrifying thriller in the vein of Polanski’s Repulsion, Observance promises to haunt your nightmares.”

“We went to some very dark places with this film and it comes with great pride that Observance will meet audiences first at Fantasia,” says director Joseph Sims-Dennett.

The film stars Lindsay Farris (Primal, Bad Behaviour), Stephanie King (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek, Django Unchained), Roger Ward (Mad Max), Tom O’Sullivan (Underbelly) and Benedict Hardie (The Water Diviner).

In the grip of grief following the death of his young son, Parker reluctantly returns to work as a private investigator. Embarking on an unusual assignment to observe a woman from an abandoned apartment, Parker records the strange occurrences surrounding her, unaware that the derelict building that he surveys her from has birthed a dark presence which slowly threatens to consume him.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
