It seems all the familiar faces (except Jessica Lange) are returning for American Horror Story: Hotel, and the latest cast member to head back and check in to Hotel is Emma Roberts.
Roberts sexed up the series when she appeared in Coven, and she was one of the better aspects of Freak Show, so her return is very welcome in my opinion.
Roberts is currently filming the horror comedy series Scream Queens, which is created by American Horror Story showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, and then she’ll move straight in to Hotel.
Zap2it got the scoop, and Murphy told them: “She’s still going to do a couple episodes of ‘Horror Story’ at the end, I think,” says the series creator. “She comes at the end. She comes, and she has a great thing with Evan Peters at the end.”
Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lady Gaga, Chloë Sevigny, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson have previously been cast.
Jessica Lange will not be returning.
Series creator Ryan Murphy has promised to keep details on the next series secret for now, but he did drop hints that Freak Show offered some teases to the new season, most notably that a top hat on Maggie’s (Emma Roberts) coffee cup in Episode 4 was an “arcane” but “purposeful” clue.
Murphy has also revealed that all five seasons are in some way connected.
American Horror Story: Hotel will begin in October on FX.
