Last month we happily discovered that Lionsgate will release the sure to be cult film, Turbo Kid, here in the UK, although no release date has been announced.

However, a US release date has now been confirmed for 28th August in selected cinemas and on VOD.

To celebrate the announcement, a really cool, gloriously violent and brilliantly retro trailer has been released, and you’ll find the trailer below.

Turbo Kid is directed by François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell. The cast includes Munro Chambers, Michael Ironside, Laurence Leboeuf, Aaron Jeffery and Edwin Wright.

Synopsis:

In a post-apocalyptic future, THE KID, a young solitary scavenger obsessed with comic books must face his fears and become a reluctant hero when he meets a mysterious girl named APPLE. Despite their efforts to keep to themselves, ZEUS, the sadistic and self-proclaimed leader of the Wasteland, plagues THE KID and APPLE. Armed with little more than blind faith and an ancient turbocharged weapon, THE KID learns of justice and friendship and embarks on an incredible journey to rid the Wasteland of evil and save the girl of his dreams.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
