In all fairness, did you really expect anything less than a perfect trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s new thriller, Sicario (Mexican for “)?

The director of Prisoners, Incendies and Enemy continues to get better and better, and while Prisoners is going to be hard to top, the first Sicario trailer suggests the director has once again upped his game, meaning that his next film, Blade Runner 2, is looking very promising (if unnecessary).

Sicario boasts an awesome cast, and some jaw dropping camera work and masterful action. The whole trailer is dripping with atmosphere, and there is a claustrophobic feel to it, and the weight of tension is almost suffocating.

Yes. as expected, Sicario looks stunning, and is now confirmed as one of my most anticipated films of the year.

Sicario, written by Taylor  Sheridan, is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Enemy). The cast includes Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro and Jon Bernthal.

The arrives in UK cinemas on 25th September.

Synopsis:

In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman.

In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs.

Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
