If you love horror with inventive ideas and the balls to do something different, and take its viewer to the edge, then the horror short Heir looks to be right up your alley.

Produced by Fatal Pictures, and starring the one and only Bill Oberst Jr, Heir looks deliciously dark and viciously violent. The first trailer has now been released ahead of the films screening at the Fantasia Film Festival this week, and the trailer promises some truly chilling, fucked up shit. On the evidence of the trailer alone, this looks to be the sort of horror that will leave viewers shaken.

The trailer also boasts a number of highly commendable quotes from reviews, proving that Heir will indeed be something horror fans should be checking out.

From Richard Powell and Zach Green’s Fatal Pictures, the company that brought you the critically acclaimed, award winning horror shorts WORM and FAMILIAR, comes their new and final short film “HEIR”, a touching tale of father and son.

Starring the Emmy award winning Bill Oberst Jr. (ABRAHAM LINCOLN VS. ZOMBIES, TAKE THIS LOLLIPOP, CHILDREN OF SORROW) and Robert Nolan (SICK, WORM, FAMILIAR), Heir is written and directed by Richard Powell (Worm, Familiar).

Synopsis:

After connecting with a stranger of similar interests online, family man Gordon and son Paul, embark on an ill-fated road trip in which Gordon aims to indulge in a secret passion. Before the day ends a horrible truth will be uncovered and a harsh lesson will be learned.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.

  1. Thank you for the kind mention, Matt! Fatal Pictures always dares to (a) have an idea behind the horror and (b) go practical on effects…neither is safe and neither is cheap. So I respect the heck out of these guys.

Always a thrill to be mentioned on the great HorrorCultFilms.uk!
