The vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows was on of this years biggest highlights, and I am very excited that a sequel is in development.

If you have not seen the film, then trust me and go and get it right now, and sit back and enjoy one of the funniest, smartest horror comedies you are ever likely to see.

A sequel is great news, and one half of the films writing and directing team, Jemaine Clement, confirmed to Stuff in New Zealand that a sequel is on the horizon. The sequel is in the early stages right now, and it focuses on Rhys Darby’s control-freak werewolf Anton.

How cool will that be!!!

What We Do In The Shadows was written and directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waitit, who both also star in the film. The rest of the cast includes Jonathan Brugh, Stuart Rutherford, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer and Jackie Van Beek.

What We Do In The Shadows follows the lives of Viago (Taika Waititi), Deacon (Jonathan Brugh), and Vladislav (Jemaine Clement) – three flatmates who are just trying to get by and overcome life’s obstacles-like being immortal vampires who must feast on human blood. Hundreds of years old, the vampires are finding that beyond sunlight catastrophes, hitting the main artery, and not being able to get a sense of their wardrobe without a reflection-modern society has them struggling with the mundane like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
