Kevin Greutert (Jessabelle, Saw 6 and 7) directs Visions, a new horror from the reliable Blumhouse production company.

The first trailer has arrived ahead of the films 17th September release in Singapore cinemas, and I can’t say it impresses me much. It’s very cliched and hugely lacking in any real scares, or anything remotely new for that matter.

I feel the pregnant girl in distress has been done to death in horror in recent years, and the trailer stinks of “seen it all before” syndrome. But hey, Jason Blum is producing, so it can’t be that bad, can it?

The poster is cool though.

Visions is directed by Kevin Greutert, and the cast includes Isla Fisher, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Parsons, Eva Longoria and Anson Mount.

Synopsis:

Leaving her hectic city lifestyle behind, young mother-to-be Eveleigh joins her husband David at their beautiful new vineyard home only to be plagued by terrifying noises and visions of a sinister hooded figure. No one else hears or sees these hallucinations, not even David, who grows increasingly worried about his wife’s well-being.

Desperate to prove her sanity, Eveleigh hunts down locals who reveal the haunted history of the vineyard in which she now resides. But when the pieces come together, the answer is far different – and more dangerous to her and her baby – than she ever imagined.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
