I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: Silent Hill

  1. proxy as it provoked feelings and fear , and it was a tie with the slightly corny Hand That Rocks Cradle that puts you off nannies

  2. This may not be popular but I actually thought the ‘alien’ pregnancy from Prometheus was pretty grim. My wife (5 children) left the film at that stage, so I had to come back on my own for a second screening.

  3. I liked that weird film where the female alien keeps having sex with people but can’t recall what it was called – began with an S??? other than that Rosemarys baby was very creepy

  4. Rosemarys baby. it’s one of my earliest recollections of an horror film and i can still remember the story really well. In fact i’m going to download and watch again

  5. The only one I could thing of is Alien, which really isn’t a horror. I like the ripping from the chest. I haven’t saw Rosemary’s baby so I’ve added that to my watch list.

  6. Rosemary’s Baby: As far as I know the original “Pregnancy Horror” and still the best. Still shocks and I can have some pretty strange dreams after watching it. Fantastically Fearful.

  7. Its ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ for me. A little dated but watched it as a kid and found it scary and still shocks even now

  8. in alien when ripley had an alien inside her and she grabbed it just as it burst out of her as she fell into the furnace

  9. Have to agree with Rosemary’s Baby although the Zombie baby scene in Dawn of the Dead (2004) deserves a mention!

  10. Prophecy def. I dont know if it was because I was so young when I watched it or if it was just the suspense of whats the baby going to be like throughout the entire film. Great suspense building

  11. The women giving birth to a zombie baby in Dawn of the Dead. There wasn’t too many zombie films back then, so it was really creepy.

  12. Don’t know if it counts as a ‘horror’ pregnancy but watching the cute lizard like alien baby pop out of his human mummy’s tummy and gurn at the camera in the original series of ‘V’ had me in stitches, then in tears after he sadly died – all of which is rather an odd co-incidence as it convinced me that cesarean sections weren’t for me when I had my little boy 😉

  13. Spanish horror film Inside (A I’interieur, 2007). My friend’s don’t take any more horror recommendations from me after I told them to watch this film, pretty horrific but I thought it was brilliant.

  14. Demon Seed – Just because it was totally inhuman, but it feel apart when the machine turned into a Rubix Snake!

  15. Baby Blood with the creepy-voiced foetus/creature encouraging Yanka to kill a series of men in increasingly blood-splattering ways – the exploding in the ambulance being a highlight.

  16. I find horror films with children the scariest. I remember the zombie baby being born in the shopping mall in Dawn of the Dead. Yuck.
