The Exorcist remains one of the few horror films that genuinely terrifies me, and the thought of it being remade made me sick to my stomach.
The talk of the remake surfaced once again last week after a report explained how Morgan Creek, the studio that owns the rights, were selling the rights to a large number of their back catalogue. The report said that Morgan Creek would retain the rights to five particular films, with plans to remake them. One of those films was The Exorcist.
The horror community was not happy…
Jump forward to today, and a Tweet on what looks to be the official Morgan Creek Twitter feed announces that there are NO plans for a remake of The Exorcist. You can view the Tweet next:
For the record, we will never attempt to remake THE EXORCIST

Hoo-fucking-ray for that!
Remaking The Exorcist is one of the silliest ideas I ever heard, and any director brave enough to sign up to do it would end up being damned and tossed out of a window and falling down a long flight of steps.
Please, please, PLEASE let this be the end of the remake talk. Enough of it!!!
