Jeremy Saulnier, director of the critically acclaimed hard hitting films Blue Ruin and the yet to be released The Green Room, has announced his next film. He will direct Hold the Dark, an intense film about man vs wolf, and Variety revealed all the details:
Saulnier will direct and his longtime creative partner Macon Blair will write the screenplay. A24 will produce alongside their recurring partner Eva Maria Daniels of VisionChaos Productions and Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder of Addictive Pictures.
The film is is an intense tale of fate, family and revenge set in the remote Alaskan wilderness. When a child is taken from his village by a pack of wolves, an expert hunter is summoned to track and destroy them. His mission leads him down an increasingly dark and shocking path as he confronts the cruelty of nature and his own failures as a man.
CAA brokered the deal on behalf of Saulnier, Blair, and Giraldi. The trio are all managed by Anonymous Content; Saulnier is also represented by attorney André Des Rochers.
“Green Room” is set to bow later this year; it stars Anton Yelchin and Patrick Stewart and follows a young punk rock band who find themselves trapped in a secluded venue after stumbling upon a horrific act of violence.
