The first image has been released from the now filming sequel, Bourne 5 (currently untitled), and it features a returning Matt Damon as Jason Bourne.

It appears that Bourne is taking part in a bare knuckle boxing match, however it is unclear where this image fits in to the highly anticipated sequel.

Recently Damon revealed a small amount of detail about the new film:

“Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world,” Damon said. “It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.”

Matt Damo returns as Jason Bourne, and Vincent Cassel will be playing the villain. Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles, and Tommy Lee Jones also star.

Paul Greengrass is back to direct and co-pen the script with Christopher Rouse. Frank Marshall again produces the action-thriller alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment. Greengrass, Damon, Greg Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Rouse and Henry Morrison serve as executive producers.

Plot details are unknown at this time.

The film will be released on 29th July 2016.

Damon’s three Bourne movies, which began in 2002 and ended in 2007, grossed nearly $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Matt Wavish

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
