Rise of the Footsoldier was one of the best examples of British thug cinema to have come along in a long time, and a superb entry into the gangster genre. Now comes the sequel, which continues the story of Carlton Leach, menacingly played once again by Ricci Hartnett.

Rise of the Footsoldier 2 is written and directed by Ricci Hartnett, who also returns in the leading role of Carlton Leach. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mably, Steven Berkoff, Ryan Oliva and Loek Peters.

The film will be released later this year.

Ricci Hartnett plays the lead character Carlton Leach, and the story picks up from where the original film left off with the infamous real-life story of the Rettendon Triple Murders, aka the ‘Range Rover murders’, when Pat Tate, Tony Tucker and Craig Rolfe were shot to death in a Range Rover on a farm track in Essex.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
