So more cameo news coming from the Ghostbusters reboot director himself. To avoid other people leaking the news (which keeps happening), Feig has tweeted confirmation that Sigourney Weaver will be appearing in his all-female Ghostbusters film in a mystery cameo role.

Is Zuul returning in Dana’s body?

While this is great news, I can’t help but think casting pretty much all the major characters from the  classic original film is a desperate attempt to please fans, and their cameos won’t really add anything to the film. My guess is that fans will WANT to see their old heroes in the new film, and so it will sell a lot more tickets than the ridiculous idea of the reboot on its own merits.

Here’s the Tweet:

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are all on board with the reboot, and are planning cameos.

Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will star in director Paul Feigs “Ghostbusters” reboot.

Ivan Reitman is producing.

The film is set to open in cinemas on 15th July 2016.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
