John Hillcoat has directed some pretty bleak and heavy films over the years, but his work is always incredible. With films including The Proposition, Lawless and The Road in his back catalogue, a new film from Hillcoat is well worth getting excited about.

However, wait until you see the red-band trailer below!

Filled with some really brutal and violent scenes, some great use of music and a general sense of danger on the streets, Triple 9 looks intense and brilliant, and is definitely not one to miss. But there’s more! Wait until you see the list of incredible acting talent involved too!

Triple 9 is written by Matt Hook and directed by John Hillcoat, and the exceptional cast includes Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie, Gal Gadot, Norman Reedus, Teresa Palmer, Clifton Collins, Jr., and Kate Winslet.

Synopsis:

In Triple 9, a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist and the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down.” Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck action-packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
