The upcoming creature feature Colossal, which back in April was the subject of a lawsuit because of similarities to a certain radioactivity-breathing reptile from Japan, sure sounds like fun, and sounds pleasingly odd too. The story follows a young woman who returns to her home town after her life has gone down the toilet in New York City. After losing both her job and her boyfriend, a giant monster appears over Seoul to smash things up, and she discovers that she has a strange connection to it and that the destruction may be linked to her mental breakdown. The director and writer is Nacho Vigalondo, who impressed with the mind bendy Timecrimes and the quirky Extraterestrial, though so much with his last effort, the thriller Open Windows.

Variety now reports that the increasingly popular Dan Stevens, who impressed so much in The Guest and was recently cast as the Beast in Disney’s remake of Beauty And The Beast, will play Hathaway’s ex-boyfriend who dumps her, then follows her to Seoul to try to win back her affections. The cast also includes Jason Sudeikis, Tim Blake Nelson, and Austin Stowell. There’s no hint of a release date yet. but I’m quite excited about this one.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
