Sold Out Sales & Marketing Limited, one of the UK’s longest standing publishers, have announced an expansion into digital by signing a deal with Prospect Games to bring their upcoming title, Unbox, to the digital market.
Due for release in 2016, Unbox is a vibrant physics-based platformer set in the near future, featuring the ultimate postal service; self-delivering cardboard boxes. Players can roll, jump and Unbox their way through a variety of imaginative and perilous worlds – completing challenges, beating bosses and discovering secrets. Then grab their friends and get competitive across a range of destructible local multiplayer levels and modes featuring box racing, box battling and much, much more.
Founded in 2013, Prospect Games is an up-and-coming name on the British development scene. The team recently made waves on the indie circuit after Unbox was successfully greenlit on Steam, garnering 7,390 Yes votes and 516 followers in just two weeks.
“Sold out are excited to be working with The Northern Development Powerhouse that is Prospect Games” said Garry Williams, Licensing Director at Sold Out. “Andrew and his team are delivering a unique digital game and Sold Out will drive the volumes, deliver maximum revenues and extend the life cycle of what is a ‘Triple-I’ release.”
Andrew Bennison, Managing Director at Prospect Games, added “In the wake of the recent success of our Greenlight campaign for Unbox, Prospect Games was approached by a number of publishers. After examining many opportunities, we felt the offer from Sold Out will provide the vital services our business needs, giving us the best reach across both national and international markets. We can now focus entirely on making Unbox the best possible gaming experience we can.”
