A new adaptation of the popular game Tomb Raider has been on the cards for some time now, but reports are now confirming a director has finally been found, and it’s good news!

Norwegian director Roar Uthaug will direct the Tom Raider movie, and fans should already know him from some superb films including Cold Prey, The Wave and Escape.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who co-penned Transformers 5, has been tapped to write the screenplay

This new adaptation is being handled by MGM and Warner Brothers, and is said to feature a younger Lara Croft compared to the previous films.

No cast have been attached yet.

There have been two previous Tomb Raider films, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (1996) and Lara Croft Tom Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003). Both films starred Angelina Jolie, and together they have grossed $432 million worldwide.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i’m a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn’t bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
