Going to see the horror themed casino in Atlantic City? What to look out for

The idea of a Hollywood Horror Cafe has been talked about in Atlantic City for years, and now the project is moving forward at full steam. Las Vegas is already home to popular waxworks museum Madame Tussauds at the Venetian Resort Casino Hotel, which welcomes over 1,000 visitors every day. As the second biggest casino destination in the United States, Atlantic City has been looking to bring the same level of entertainment and fun to New Jersey.

Many people already feel that waxworks are a creepy attraction – the lifelike models can be unsettling, especially the figures of stars who are no longer with us. Television show Ghost Adventures even recorded an episode at the Las Vegas Museum. As a result, talks have been in place since 2011 to bring a horror-themed waxwork attraction to Atlantic City. During breaks in gaming, guests will be able to enjoy a spooky trip through decades past. The project is the brainchild of developer Joe Camarota and special effects guru Henry Alvarez.

If you are taking a trip to Atlantic City, you will want to take in all the games and slots on offer. There are 11 casinos open, all offering a unique range of fun gaming machines alongside traditional poker and blackjack tables. From 25 cent slots to $5,000 roulette, there are games to suit everyone. Card games are a popular choice among many casino visitors, especially blackjack, which is easy for beginners to follow. Poker games are also played at all major casino hotels, and private lessons are available on special request to new players. Whether you are a first time gambler or a high roller, you will find a casino for you among Atlantic City’s selection, if you feel you need to polish up your casino knowledge before making the trip to Atlantic City then check out this casino quiz. Many casinos offer complementary beverages to players too.

In between your games, the city’s attractions are sure to keep you busy. Many casino hotels have nightly entertainment, including music and dancers, comedy acts and theatre performances. You will be able to find fun things to do without ever leaving your hotel, but if you do choose to head into the city, there are museums, galleries and more. Whatever you love doing, you can indulge yourself during your trip to New Jersey. A weekend in Atlantic City gives you time to enjoy all the casino games and to take in some of the city’s sights, too.

Fans of horror films will certainly want to check out the Hollywood Horror Cafe when it arrives. The waxworks featured are expected to include screen legends from the classic horror genre and from modern horror movies, and the families of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi have given their approval to the use of memorabilia from the actors’ estates. The multimedia attraction could also feature live actors or screened performances. There will be nightly events which guests can attend, and more than one casino is open to the idea of the new project.

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Yakuza Zero and Mafia III.
