Just yesterday we brought you the first images from director Johannes Roberts’ (F., Storage 24, 47 Meters Down) new horror, The Other Side of the Door. Now we can show you the films first trailer and poster, both of which you will find below.

The Walking Dead’s Sarah Wayne Callies stars in the horror.

The film’s synopsis reads like this:

A family living overseas in Mumbai, India, are struck by tragedy when their 8-year-old son, Oliver, is killed in a car accident, for which his mother, Maria, feels directly responsible.

Maria falls into a deep depression, unable to function around her husband or 6-year-old daughter, who survived the crash. But her housekeeper tells her about a Hindu ritual that will allow her to speak to her son one last time. She’s instructed to head to an abandoned temple, sprinkle her son’s ashes, and when he appears at night, speak to him from the other side of the temple portal.

It soon becomes clear that Maria is haunted by her son and other spirits angered by the sacrilege of the open door.

“But she opens it because she desperately wants to see her son again,” Roberts explains to USA Today. “And everything goes to hell in a handbasket.”

Callies reveals a particularly scary scene:

“I was on this beautiful river, and then it started to get gray,” she explains regarding a scene sounding like an homage to the finale in Poltergeist. “I put my eyes underwater, and all of a sudden these dead bodies started floating up toward me. And then they started reaching for me. It was so horrifying.”

The cast also includes Jeremy Sisto, Sofia Rosinsky, and Logan Creran.

Matt WavishA keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
