Spaceballs-700x300

One of the most surprising news to come out from the massive success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is the rumours that Mel Brooks is planning a sequel to his 1987 classic spoof Spaceballs.

Over the last 24 hours, the internet has been awash with news that Brooks is planning a second piss take of the much loved franchise, with his original film loved by many and at the same time those fans clamouring for a sequel.

There has been nothing to note for recent years, with Brooks himself out of the limelight, his best years gone a long time gone, but that hasn’t stopped this sudden speculation.

This is what Brooks said about the possibility of Spaceballs 2

“And I’m thinking now, if I said, if I did a movie that came out right after Star Wars comes out, you know, maybe a couple of months later, Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money, I’d have a big weekend, you know, no matter what, even if it fell on its ass and you know, didn’t get that money back.”

Its that little quote that has sent the internet in meltdown, but at the moment that is all it is!  A comment by Brooks!  There has been no official word, or announcement, so despite what you hearing, at this particular time, Spaceballs 2 seems a pipe dream.

If there is an official cry that this sequel is happening, we let you know!

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
