Star-Trek-Pegg-Saldana-Weepy

While Star Wars is breaking box office records and winning rave reviews, another much loved franchise set in the stars is going through a bit of a crisis.

The teaser trailer for Star Trek Beyond has been met with a huge wave of negativity, even when it was shown before The Force Awakens, I was surrounded with more groans than a feeling of excitement.

Simon Pegg who co-wrote the sequel has responded to the reaction though and admitted himself, he was not impressed.

“I didn’t love it, because I know there’s a lot more to the film. There’s a lot more story, and a lot more character stuff, and a lot more what I would call ‘Star Trek stuff.”

The trailer suggested a bit of a departure from the Star Trek we knew adding to the fuel that Paramount had asked Pegg and Doug Jung to amend the original script as it was too “Star Treky” whatever that means?

Judge for yourself again…

Star Trek Beyond hits theaters July 22, 2016.

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
