Remember when films were made to scare people?

Remember when A L I E N was one of those films before the sequels turned them into action films?

As word and rumours continue around Alien Covenant, director Ridley Scott who just won a Golden Globe for The Martian but missed out on an Oscar nomination has been talking about the planned film and his hopes for it being as scary as the original.

“I always remember walking down the edge in Saint Louis when we were previewing [Alien]. I couldn’t sit through the film one more time. I walked down the edge into the kitchen scene when John Hurt started to bring up his breakfast. That moment, I realized how pretty scary the film was… I felt a sense of responsibility that I had gone too far because it was extreme. I’m going to try and do that again this year, but much worse.”

Even though he states that, its interesting to note “he is going to try”, because the studios these days like their films watered down so it will take much more money at the box office.

Lets hope Scott gets his wish and we finally have a back to basics Alien film!

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
