Sarah Michelle Gellar’s most famous role is not in the Scooby Doo films but of course as the Vampire Slayer who was called Buffy. But if you were heading off to the cinema’s in the late 90’s, you also remember her quite brilliant performance in the teen favourite and one of guilty pleasures Cruel Intentions.
Her portrayal as the rich kid bitch Kathryn Merteuil in the 1999 flick is worth seeking out if you have never set eyes on it and now it seems NBC who are pressing ahead with a TV show remake of the very film, want Gellar to reprise her role.
How does this work?
Well if rumours are true, the show will centre around Kathyrn Kathryn fighting for her business Valmont International while playing a game with her late stepbrother’s son Bash Casey, the offspring of Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe), and Annette Hargrove (Reece Witherspoon).
The original writer and director Roger Kumble has worked on the script and will also direct the pilot episode.
We let you know if Gellar has agreed to return to her second most famous role.
