Looking for some news about the next Friday 13th film?  Well it seems that finally after seven years of no new Jason action, there is some movement regarding the new sequel.

Bloody Disgusting are reporting that the plans are taking shape and that it won’t be a Found Footage style horror like it has been claimed over the last few years.

Platinum Dunes producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller were asked the question when promoting the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film,

There is truth that this is period,” Form told TooFab  with Fuller quickly adding, “And NOT found-footage.”

“We’re so lucky to have Aaron Guzikowski writing, who is a fan of the franchise,” Form continued. “He’s come up with an amazing story and we can’t wait to make this one.”

Guzikowski of course wrote the quite excellent Prisoners and also been given the job of penning the upcoming The Wolf Man which is to be released from Universal!

“I can tell you I believe there will be a set visit for everybody soon.” teased Fuller, which more or less confirming that is happening sooner and not later.

The date January 13, 2017, is the current plan for the next Jason film to be released.

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!

  1. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the Friday the 13th movies, but even I breathed a sign of relief at the not found footage thing.
