Despite Batman V Superman being a film that has divided opinion all over the world, the news coming through tonight is that it has scored big time at the box office, and when we say big time, we mean BIG, BIG TIME!
A staggering $424m is being counted for its opening few days which makes it Warner Bros most biggest opening film, just overtaking Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. It also now holds the record for the biggest worldwide weekend sales for a Superhero movie especially for a DC adaptation and proudly now holds the No.1 Easter Weekend Box Office.
Its now the fourth biggest Superhero movie opening of all time!
Warner must be delighted considering the negative reviews the film has generated and while it continues to cause debates all over the world between fans, the franchise is now squaring up quite nicely for the next instalment in the planned series of films.
Insiders are claiming that the the film itself will need to take at least $800 to break even, but the signs are that it will comfortably and it proves also that the superhero genre itself is still a strong performer at the box office.
