It’s good news for shark movie fans [of which I certainly am one] with Meg finally getting off the ground, and now we have….Sharkenstein, from the guy who brought you Splatter Farm, Bigfoot Vs. Zombies and Queen Crab. Mark Polonia’s new movie has already been picked up by Wild Eye Releasing, and they’re set to unleash the film onto VOD and DVD this August in the US. I’m sure a UK release will follow.

Synopsis: In the final days of World War II, a secret experiment to weaponize sharks is shut down and destroyed by the Third Reich. But now, 60 years later, a small ocean town is plagued by a bloodthirsty, mysterious creature, one built and reanimated using parts of the greatest killers to ever inhabit the sea – the Sharkenstein monster!

Dread Central have posted the film’s first artwork which you can see above, and a trailer will follow soon. The film is written by J.K. Farlew and stars Greta Volkova, James Carolus, Titus Himmelberger and Jeff Kirkendall. Let’s hope that it’s a success so that Sharkula can follow!

Dr Lenera

Dr LeneraI'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
