Though I rant and rave about all these remakes and Disney’s creative bankruptcy, their new version of The Jungle Book turned out rather well, so maybe their new Beauty And The Beast will be good too, even if the classic animated movie hardly needs a remake. Disney have released the first look at the new version which shows a great-looking Gothic castle and Emma Watson’s heroine, plus familiar music and what sounds like Lumière and Cogsworth to excite fans of the original. This also will be a musical, with three new songs written by Alan Menken. Rumours that some of the songs from the stage version will be included are apparently false.

The film is directed by Bill Condon, written by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Stephen Chbosky, and stars Emma Watson, Ewan McGregor, Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. It’s out March 17th next year.

Dr Lenera

Dr LeneraI'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
