After months of speculation its been confirmed that Alden Ehrenreich will team up with Chewbacca and take over the iconic role of Han Solo, in Disney’s planned Star Wars prequel.
The young actor beat off competition from the likes of Taron Egerton, to take on the most cherished role, made famous by Harrison Ford who, despite always being Han Solo to us, is why too old to play a younger version of the character.
Insiders are stating that Ehrenreich “really impressed Disney and Lucasfilm execs with his screen tests” and while the pressure will be huge on the young actor to mimic what Ford has brought to the role, he is getting a huge helping hand.
With the directing duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller and the film being co-written by The Force Awakens, Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and his son Jon Kasdan (The First Time), the prequel is one of the most anticipated movies of the franchise that is not part of the main Episode films.
There is also a strong rumour that Ehrenreich may also cameo in this years Rogue One, but we let you know more if that is confirmed.
