We don’t have to wait long for any more developments of the planned new Friday 13th film as a week does not go by without Platinum Dunes’ Brad Fuller talking about the film and now he has dropped even more clues into what to expect!

Ready Jason fans?

“Origin’ isn’t really the right word for this movie, the word ‘origin’ got out and everyone’s calling it an origin film now, but that isn’t exactly the direction we’re taking. It’s more of an alternate world that we’re creating for Jason – an alternate space, alternate reality – in this film. Yes, Pamela and Jason are together in this film, but this is the same Jason we all know and love. He’s Jason; he kills – he kills teenagers. We went down the origin route with the second Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, and I think when you go too deep into a character’s origin, the character stops being scary at some point. I’m not worried about demystifying Jason by revealing parts of his back story, which most of the fans are familiar with.”

I said that including Jason’s father was an idea, a possibility, but it’s not at all a certainty that he’ll appear in the film. the main relationship is between Pamela and Jason.”

And he also more or less confirmed the rumours of where the film is set!

The story takes place between the late 1970s and the early 1980s, there is a summer camp, and there are camp counselors

So apart from a now trailer for the film, that is everything we need to know of what to expect for when Jason returns, but the fact that is going back to the 70’s and 80’s for the base of the film is perhaps the best thing that could have happened to the franchise.

This sequel/prequel/ is sounding more and more intriguing every day!

We bring you more when Fuller speaks, which no doubt be in a week or two!

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
