BatWhilst I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, nothing can beat a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. I don't do 3D movies so put the red and green spex away!

  1. He’s brilliant as Big Red in Hellboy but my favourite performance by him is actually when he played Koulikov in Enemy at the Gates…he’s always so dry – the role really suited him..I think he stole the film and wished he could have had a longer role in it.

  2. Johner in Alien: Resurrection
Not the greatest of the Alien films, but it has its moments and most of them moments have Ron Perlman in them.

  3. I really enjoyed him in all hell-boy films but can remember him best in beauty and the beast. Showing a varied car actor style shows how brilliant an actor he is ,

  4. It must be ‘Hell Boy’ I don’t think anyone else could play that part – You can almost smell the cigars ……….

  5. Hand of God, his range as an actor is shown throughout the series. Very very impressive

  6. Clay Morrow in sons of Anarchy. The show didn’t feel the same after his departure.

  7. Before I Disappear was a great performance of his 🙂

  8. The City of Lost Children – I love the quirky feel of this film and Ron Perlman is wonderful in it

  9. I liked him best in Sons of Anarchy but also liked him in Hellboy

  10. I enjoyed his turn as Salvatore in “The Name Of The Rose” – it was the first time I’d come across him and I was mightlily impressed.

  11. Nino inDrive, he was a bit of a psycho, a great character

  12. I like him in hellboy, I would say that it was probably one of his greatest roles

  13. Hellboy because it is not like he is acting in it his voice is like that in real life his facial expressions are the same ,it was like the film was made for him and all The hellboys are as good as each other

  14. it has to be hellboy

  15. I liked him in Hellboy. He was perfect for that role.

  16. Clay in Sons of Anarchy because he played the part so well.

  17. love hellboy, love it

  18. Salvatore in The Name of the Rose. A stellar performance in a brilliant film full of magnificent performances.

  19. The name of the rose! He plays the hunchback.

  20. Hellboy, it was a character that fitted him so well.

  21. loved him in Hellboy

  22. liked him in Hellboy he was perfect for that role

  23. For me it is Hellboy, I hadn’t really paid much attention to his acting up until then.

  24. as Angel de la Guardia in Cronos as it was a polished performance in a great film

  25. I liked him in the Sons of Anarchy, he was brilliant

  26. Hellboy – just looks so right that the film would have been a disaster with anyone else

  27. HELL BOY

  28. he was great as luther braton in blackl;ist

  29. Hell boy! It definitely suited him well 🙂

  30. Never watched a single Ron Perlman film but heard his voice in Fallout 3 and his narration really fit the mood of the game.

  31. Has to be as Clay Morrow in Sons of Anarchy , what a brilliant series! so addictive.

  32. Yeah, Sons of Anarchy. Great show.

  33. Which Ron Perlman performance I like the most?
I could say Hellboy or Koulikov. But his performance in Blade 2 as Dieter Reinhardt stands out.
Why? It’s simply because Ron Perlman is a bad-ass in that film.

  34. He was amazing in Hellboy

  35. Sons of Anarchy – amazing series and character

  36. Xibalba from the animated film “The Book of Life”. A great portal for Pearlman to show his acting capabilities taking him away from his typical action / hardman roles allowing him to show depth to the mischievous and evil character through voice alone.

  37. Hellboy – a part he was born to play!

  38. Vincent from Beauty and the Beast – great acting and chemistry

  39. He has an impressive CV (except for perhaps Police Academy: Mission to Moscow!) but it’s got to be Hellboy – he was born to play that role.

  40. I thought he was excellent in Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

  41. His portrayal as the malevolent, psychopathic, evil driven sheriff in “DESPERATION” really delivers his full range as an actor, whether it be comic book Anti-Hero, mischievious, ill-gotten Biker Gang Leader, or complete Basket Case in said movie he can nail any part, and blow it away.

The voice of Slade in the new teen titans series as well, due to his educated/benevolent tone it lent a creative multilevel persona to the character, which supported the many head games the team faced.

…& to those just saying yea Hellboy or w/e they are asking Who&Why not for you to be the ignorant example why the world is Doomed to Decay….

  42. He was great as Bill in Before I Disappear

  43. IT’S not out yet but the thing I’m most looking forward to is Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find them and he is playing Gnarlack, it’s going to be huge.

  44. Big Red in Hellboy is my fave one

  45. He’s perfect as Hellboy. Right size, oddness, fierceness!

  46. Hell Boy was a great film for the fantastic comedy element

  47. In Hellboy – enjoyable superhero.

  48. City of Lost Children. I love everything Jeunet does, obviously, but Perlman is great in this. His character is fairly monosyllabic but, even with such scant dialogue, he manages to convey the emotions perfectly.

  49. He is great in hellboy

  50. Blade II – he’s really funny in that.

  51. Koulikov in Enemy at the gate – he was evily awesome in it

  52. Hell Boy – played the role so well

  53. Hell Boy, cause he was the only person that could play the role like he did

  54. Hellboy its the role he was born to play

  55. I liked him as Conan’s father and leader of the Cimmerians in Conan The Barbarian. He has an imposing face and build so was well cast in the role.

  56. Clay in Sons of Anarchy

  57. Hellboy! It is brilliant!

  58. Hellboy – The role was tailor-made for him.

  59. Hellboy as he is perfect for the role in this fun movie

  60. Quest for Fire because he so looked The Neanderthal part!

  61. Sons of Anarchy, made for the part 🙂

  62. Definitely Johner in Alien Resurrection. It was one of the first times I remember seeing him in a film and I’ve loved him as an actor ever since!

  64. Season of the Witch not a big film but i like it

  65. I Loved him in Hellboy. He was amazing!

  66. I love him in the sons of anarchy

  67. I loved him in Beauty and the Beast- charismatic and played the role wonderfully

  78. Beauty and the Beast because he made me cry

  79. He was perfect as Hell-Boy

  80. Blade 2 – He was amazing in that and very comical 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity 🙂
