Its with sad news that HCF have to report this afternoon the sad news that Robin Hardy, the director of the cult classic The Wicker Man has died at the age of 86.

Hardy who only went on to direct two more films after The Wicker Man, with one being a sequel, The Wicker Tree in 2011, will forever be remembered as one of the talents who brought a masterpiece of horror for British Cinema.

His Wicker Man which starred Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee has influenced many films over the years, with Edgar Wright admitting that his Hot Fuzz would never have been made, if it weren’t for that film!

Hardy only recently last year admitted he was planning a third film in the franchise in honour for his star Christopher Lee who sadly died himself last year.

Robin Hardy will be missed!

RIP Fella!

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
