Over the last 18 months and so, there has been rumours that Tim Burton is re-teaming with Michael Keaton and finally giving the horror world a sequel to 80’s classic Beetlejuice.

The news was greeted with a huge fanfare but since then, zilch and during a recent interview with Variety, Keaton in total blunt fashion stated that the sequel is all but dead!

“Its possible that ship has sailed”

Its a bold statement and while there is no official word from anyone, its pretty obvious that Keaton of all people would be in the know if this was in development.  He continued by saying…..

“The only way to do it is to do it right. So much of it was improvised and so much was beautifully handmade by the artist that is Tim Burton. If you can’t get close to that, you leave it alone.”

So it seems that why the idea is floating around out somewhere, the actual development is not happening and that is why there has been zero news over recent months.

We let you know if anything else develops or comes from Keaton’s words…..

Ross HughesSince my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
