The first official teaser poster for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant has been released and it’s simple and straight to the point. It simply features a drooling Xenomorph with the simple caption of “Run”, and seems to hint that this one will tie even more closely to the rest of the Alien franchise. Even better, the release date of the film has been moved up. It was originally scheduled to hit cinemas this August 4, 2017, but it will now arrive on May 19, 2017. It’s unusual for this to happen to a movie and I wish it would happen more often.

Details are pretty slim, but this film is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, as they aim to explore an uncharted paradise, or so they think. In actuality, it’s a dangerous world with the synthetic, played by Michael Fassbender, as the only remaining survivor of the Prometheus expedition. I thought that the quite divisive Prometheus was rather weak, with a lot of poorly done scenes and writing, though The Martian did indicate that Scott’s lengthy mediocre-to-poor spell may have come to an end. Let’s hope that this one is worthy of Scott’s original classic.

Alien: Covenant is directed by Ridley Scottt, written by  Michael Green, John Logan and Jack Paglen, and stars Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Carmen Ejogo, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and Billy Crudup.

Dr Lenera

Dr LeneraI'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
