Just a day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher at age 60, actress Debbie Reynolds has sadly passed away at the age of 84.
Debbie Reynolds was an all-singing, all-dancing star who shot to fame with Gene Kelly in Singin’ In The Rain and also had a no 1 hit with the song Tammy from the film Tammy and the Bachelor. Younger audiences might know as her the voice of Charlotte in the original, hand-drawn animated movie Charlotte’s Web whilst one of her later roles was that of Liberace’s mother in Behind the Candelabra.
She will be known for many of her works as well as being an avid collector of more than 3000 costumes and props and equipment from Hollywood movies and stars which she was unfortunately forced to auction off in 2011.
As a lover of weird and strange films, I leave our readers with this: a nice little nod to Debbie in Terry Gilliam’s Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, a scene which occurs later in the movie after Duke and Gonzo get kicked out of her show earlier on.
