One of my favourite horror films of all time is the 80’s classic Fright Night which even to this day, is still a fantastic watch for any newcomer.
Now original director Tom Holland who sold the rights to the film, way back in 1984, will see the franchise return to his hands in 2019, all thanks to The Copyright Act Of 1976.
And how is he going to celebrate this? Well he has not only announced that he has nearly finished writing a Fright Night 3 novel that will see Charley and Amy back, but he also has plans to make a proper third film of the franchise, a possible adapation of the very story he is currently writing.
Fright Night’s original sequel was not a huge success like the first film and in 2011 the remake didn’t actually set the world alight, neither did the odd Fright Night 2 in 2013 which came across like another remake with a title that made no sense.
But with Holland back involved and keen to see this franchise back on track, especially as he announced….“Not sure who lives next door now, but I bet he has fangs…” the news has made fans like myself all giddy with excitement.
We keep you posted!
