LATEST MOVIES: The new Pinhead talks about the upcoming Hellraiser: Judgement!

If you like it or not, a new Hellraiser film is coming and its starring a Pinhead that is not Doug Bradley.

I know…I know…..after the dire, awful and borderline insulting Hellraiser: Revelations, this is the last thing the franchise probably needs, especially with Clive Barker no where near involved, but to be fair to the new guy who is putting pins in his head Paul T. Taylor, he really is embracing the iconic role, than be daunted by it.

Taylor has spoken to the guys over on TrunkSpace and you can clearly see that not only is he looking forward to the film being seen, but he is confident that everyone involved has somehow pulled off a Hellraiser film to be proud of.

Here is some snippets from the interview:

“Some people may not understand exactly who Pinhead is, they may want to go back and look at ‘Hellraiser’ 1, 2 and 3… maybe even 4… and see some of the history. But, at the same time, it is a new chapter. It’s an unexplored part of Hell, I would say, introducing some new characters and some new mechanisms behind where Pinhead and all of that comes from. And, it’s also a jumping off point for a sequel following this one that could continue the story that it tells because it’s a true ‘Hellraiser’ script with a beginning, a middle, and a sort of ambiguous end. And these new characters they introduced could be in future ‘Hellraiser’ films.”

“I think people are going to be fascinated with it and the gore elements that we get from like the ‘Saw’ movies and the things that are total, what I would say, on the border of horror porn,” he added. “There’s some elements of [‘horror porn’] in it and that will please many ‘Hellraiser’ fans and many fans of just what contemporary horror can be these days where it’s just a gross-out.”

Its interesting that he mentions a sequel as that shows that those behind the film believe that this could be a start of a whole new series with these characters.  Will Hellraiser: Judgement live up to its past glories?

We have to wait and see, along with a release date that hasn’t been announced yet!
