LATEST TV: Netflix to reboot much loved 80’s classic Monkey Magic!

When I was little, on a Friday night on BBC 2, just after school there was a show called Monkey Magic that was so awful, it was absolutely amazing.

It was Japanese show that had a plot that made no sense and every scene was dubbed into English that every Monday morning in school we copied and you know what……it was golden TV!

Well rejoice as Netflix are remaking the show in which we can guess straight away that it will lose some of its charm thanks to a more serious approach, but 10 episodes have been ordered and the show will be called: The Legend Of Monkey.

Here is an official statement from ABC:

“The mythical tale of the Monkey King is a story that continues to captivate global audiences, Our production partner See-Saw Films is bringing The Legend of Monkey to life through incredible locations and sets, an acclaimed production team and an exciting diverse young cast.

“We can’t wait for fans to see this new series that features the heroes they love and we are just as excited to introduce this re-imagined magical and exciting world to a whole new generation of viewers.”

Luciane Buchanan, Chai Hansen, Josh Thomson and Emilie Cocquerel have all been cast and we await now for the first official images to hit us…….

If you can’t remember it, or deny that you loved it, or even too young to know of it…. here is a clip of the classic show
